In collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent
Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Centre helps families in need
10 families in Abu Dhabi given clothes and essential supplies to mark the UAE’s Year of Giving
Abu Dhabi – September, 2017: Cambridge Medical and Rehabilitation Centre, the UAE’s leading rehabilitation and long-term care facility, joined hands with the UAE Red Crescent to distribute supplies to needy families in Abu Dhabi on the morning of August 24th 2017.
The initiative commemorates the UAE government nominating 2017 as the Year of Giving, and saw joint teams from the Red Crescent and CMRC offer clothes and other essentials as well as basic healthcare to 10 families in need.
“CMRC is committed to community outreach and improving the quality of life of people – either through world-class rehabilitation services for special needs children, or by reaching out directly to poor families who have simpler needs. We are very pleased to be able to join hands with the Red Crescent to make a difference to people’s lives – and consider it a duty as a responsible corporate citizen, and as an institution that provides care to the vulnerable,” said CMRC CEO, Dr. Howard Podolsky.
Doctors and senior officials from CMRC attended the drive along with Red Crescent staff members.
“Since 1983, the UAE Red Crescent has been on the frontlines of supporting people in need, in times of peace and war. We are grateful to partners like CMRC who offer the resources, supplies and concern that can make a tremendous difference to people and families in need. We look forward to many more collaborations with brands like CMRC to serve our communities,” said HE Mohammed Saeed Al Rumaithi, Deputy Secretary-General for Local Affairs, Red Crescent and Director of the UAE Red Crescent in Abu Dhabi.
